Frequently Asked Questions – Rupp Family Builders

At Rupp Family Builders, our focus has always been on making construction clear, accountable, and built to last. By keeping design, engineering, and trades under one roof, we give homeowners a single team they can trust from the first consultation to final handover.

With more than 40 years of family-led experience, we’ve refined a process that eliminates confusion and delivers results you can count on. Below, you’ll find straightforward answers to the questions we’re asked most often.
We run an integrated design-build system where architects, engineers, and trades work together in-house. That means fewer delays, no subcontractor finger-pointing, and complete accountability from start to finish.
Yes. From hillside builds to structural-heavy remodels, our in-house engineering team and fabrication shop allow us to take on projects that other builders shy away from.
Our primary service area is the Portland metro, including Lake Oswego, West Linn, Tigard, Beaverton, Sherwood, and nearby communities.
We set the bar higher than just “meeting code.” Every project is overseen by supervisors, supported by quality assurance checks, and backed by our Generations of Trust Guarantee.
It starts with a direct consultation with Garrett Rupp and our team. You’ll receive a clear proposal, an honest timeline, and an outline of how we’ll bring your project to life.
We continue to stand by our work long after handover. Warranty coverage and ongoing client service are part of why families return to us for future projects.
Unlike most builders, we keep critical trades in-house. Our own crews handle plumbing, electrical, carpentry, cabinetry, and more. This gives us tighter control over quality, scheduling, and accountability, while also reducing delays caused by waiting on subcontractors.
Yes. Rupp Family Builders is a FIR Contractor (Field Issuance Remodel Contractor) with the City of Portland. This recognition allows us to streamline the permitting and inspection process, helping projects move faster and with fewer roadblocks.
We believe communication is just as important as craftsmanship. That’s why we use BuilderTrend, an online project management tool, to keep clients updated with schedules, daily logs, and photos. You’ll always know where your project stands and who to reach out to directly.
We provide detailed proposals upfront that break down allowances and line items. Since we manage trades internally, we minimize markup costs and unexpected charges. This integrated approach allows us to maintain tighter control over budgets than builders who outsource everything.
We do both. Many clients choose our in-house architect and designer because it simplifies the process and keeps accountability with one team. However, we’re also happy to collaborate with outside architects or designers if you already have one on board.
